DRAWING
Today we had our class scheduled with Ms. Sonia Mallick. The class started with the the general introduction about the course.
Further we were told to explore our artistic side using a charcoal on a newspaper print. For me it was outside my comfort zone but because we were given the liberty to explore the class turned a lot more fun.
It was surprisingly a lot fun to use charcoal as the main medium. The feedback on my first attempt turned out pretty well.
The little techniques to achieve the right textures taught by Ms. Sonia were very helpful and informative. It was exceptionally exquisite to see some of the works done by my fellow classmates and the constant exchange of ideas was the best part.
We then watched a documentary about the earliest cave paintings and the use of carbon and charcoal in the making of those paintings. The documentary was very informative as it helped us getting a better insight about the history of cave paintings, the idea behind them and the making of them.
Post this we were told to draw something related to what we saw, the techniques the early men followed, the various sculptures they made etc. The class was so much fun as we got to explore our spontaneous ideas and explore a new medium.
