SPACE & MATERIALITY (Class – 07) – Blog it with Noharika

The class started with ma’am reviewing our prototypes i.e., grip models.

Then ma’am chose the best ones and instructed us to work on a technical drawing of the chosen one. Following is the technical drawing of my model;

Working on the prototypes made me come across a lot of new materials and helped me understand their right usage. The technical drawing helped me figure out the dimensions of my final model. Post this I discussed with ma’am about the materials I want to use in my final model. The discussion turned out very insightful and productive and I decided on using on MDF Board, Wire mesh, foam, fire and metal sheet. After this, I went to discuss my layout with our workshop teacher and after jotting down their opinions and ideas I started working on my model with their assistance.

It was so much fun working on my very first model. I learnt how to use various machines, how to work with various material, accepting fail attempts and most importantly believing in myself and my idea.
