OBJECTS WITH HISTORY (Class – 01)

I didn’t attend the class today as I was a little under the weather but on asking my friends I got to know that they discussed about the Stone Age and that the Stone Age is dived into 3 stages: Palaeolithic Age, Neolithic Age, and Chalcolithic Age.

The class was then asked to pick any one of these ages and write a 100 words essay on any one object from the respective stages that they had chosen.

IMAGING II (Class – 03)

After trying our hands on text base layouts in today’s class we had to design an Album Cover. Here is the album cover I made:

Next, sir explained to us the importance of fonts, spacing, and layouts in general. We were shown a couple of books and magazines for reference to understand better. We then traced some layouts and see for ourselves how the spacing works, we then illustrated some of them by altering them and adding our own touch.

IMAGING II (Class – 04)

In today’s class, we continued creating more layouts. We were also told to create a comic book layout by first illustrating on paper and then image tracing it.

Following are few of the layouts that I created:

OBJECTS WITH HISTORY (Class – 03)

8.01.19

In today’s class, we discussed various things from the Sumerians to the Egyptians.

Learning  how Sumerian and Akkadian languages were feeding off of each other, Akkad being the first recorded empire,  understanding about the architecture back in days, learning about the various gods being worshipped back then, Gilgamesh being the first example of a fictional narrative also the first example of bromance, learning about the Akkadian kings followed by the downfall of the empire, Egypt being one of the oldest civilizations in Africa, the three stages in the Egyptian history i.e., Old, Middle and New, learning about the Nile river, Quarrying, mummification, the Egyptian gods such as Osiris, RA etc, learning about Voluntary slavery, Scribes, Battle of Kadesh (fought between Egyptians and Hittites) being the first ever recorded battle, learning about the hierarchy followed then in Egypt, Faience, Planked boats and obviously Pyramids such as Giza.

The class ended with a brief discussion about Dark Sarcophagus and the red liquid found in it.

TIME (Class – 02)

The class was dedicated to our narratives and how we decide to transfer our thoughts on paper. We were supposed to convert our all three narratives on the respective storyboards.

After a series of discussions with ma’am, I finalized one storyboard. Here is my first storyboard:

SUSTAINABILITY SYSTEMS (Class – 01)

Semester II started off with the class of Sustainability Systems. I was genuinely looking forward to the class partially because it was a new subject but unfortunately I couldn’t make it to the class because I was little under the weather. However, on asking my peers I was informed that we were supposed to draw a mind map about our routine from the time we wake up to the time we reach our class. Then we were told to identify the least sustainable activity in our entire routine and further come up with a drawing of a device that could help us perform that activity in a more sustainable manner. The class also discussed about carbon footprints and their disadvantages

SUSTAINABILITY SYSTEMS (Class – 04)

Sir was absent today but that didn’t stop us from utilizing our class time to research more about our chosen topic, Dairy Industries.

After researching for a while, making notes, we decided to create some infographics. These are the infographics that my group and I created. untitled-5c-20i_35757337

SUSTAINABILITY SYSTEMS (Class – 03)

17.01.19

We started off the class with a brief class review, sir reviewed our mind maps and our recycle – upcycle ideas and further gave inputs for the same.

Sir then explained how to research properly, the steps that should be followed while doing any form of research, primary, secondary what so ever. We were told the importance of researching in a proper order always i.e., on a local level first, national level second and global level being the last, sir gave us a couple of examples to understand the same.

We were then told to create an index for our research work. For that, my group and I first started jotting down all the data that we briefly collected in the last class. we then watching a little more videos and researching a little more about our topic, Dairy Industry.

INDEX (DAIRY INDUSTRY)

  1. Introduction – meaning, pillars, topography, climate
  2. Demands / Habits – consumption level (Local, National & Global level)
  3. Effect on the environment – problems (Freshwater, Rainforest, Methane level)
  4. Conspiracy (Non-acceptance, people being killed)
  5. Appendix (Climate wars, Marine life depletion, ocean dead zone)
  6. Bibliography
  7. Solutions

SUSTAINABILITY SYSTEMS (Class – 02)

10.01.19

The first half of the class was for us to figure out three things or activities that we’d wanna upcycle (i.e., reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original) in our respective routines.

After a while of discussions and failed ideas, I finally figure out what I wanna go with. I decided to upcycle my old gladiator shoes which are way too big for me, next I decided to upcycle the plastic bottles at my apartment and lastly my worn out shoes.

The second half of the class was where all the fun started. We were first told to make groups of three or four, next we were all given a list of topic and each group had to select one, we chose Dairy Industry, we then had to research about our respective topics on local, national and global level. For our topic, sir suggested us to watch a documentary on Netflix called Cowspiracy. We then spend our second half briefly researching about our topic and watching the documentary. The data collected was very horrifying and hard to digest.

Our research helped us briefly understand how badly the demands for dairy products are causing a mad amount of damage to the environment.

TIME (Class – 01)

The class started off with a very interesting question ‘What is Time?’. We were told to write three narratives on how we perceive time.

Here are my three narratives:

  1. Time is very ironic. while it helps us grow into our best form it also gets us closer to our end.
  2. Time is a parallel dimension, controlling our lives, constantly giving us the opportunities to strive better while having the capacity to shut on us ay second. It is the key which was right in front of us this entire time but we decided to neglect its presence until after it’s gone.
  3. The mesmerizing forest of time, while it’s open for all, once inside it’s not easy to make it out. Attracting everyone towards it and ultimately letting them get lost in its powerful aura. We are all unknowingly inside the same forest, while we tend to meander, we tend to lose sight of the way that has always been right in front of us.

This exercise of writing helped me understand how important time is and how we are very well aware of that and yet we do what we do the best, waste time.
