SPACE & MATERIALITY (Class – 12)

25.10.18

The class started with a little brainstorming and discussions of ideas for our second prototype. We decided to create something to assist the action of arm-wrestling. We then discussed our idea and got it approved by ma’am. Our idea was to create support for the elbows to stay at its place of both the opponents by attaching an elastic and velcro. Also, there would be magnets attached in our palms that would keep the two palms intact.

SPACE & MATERIALITY (Class -11)

18.10.18

In today’s class, we started working on our first prototype. Our prototype was based on the repulsion of the magnets to restrict the action of knuckle punch.

For the prototype, we used an elastic strap to make a band out of it, we then attached velcro on both the ends of the band and lastly attached magnets in the centre. We created two bands for the action. We then showed them to ma’am and got them approved as our prototypes.

DRAWING (Class -14)

23.10.18

Today was our last Drawing class for semester – 01. I started colouring my final zine after I got my sketching approved. With ma’am’s help I learnt how to use alcohol markers and  pencil colours when it comes to rendering.

DRAWING (Class – 12)

26.10.18

In today’s class, I explored different styles of creating comics and discussed them with ma’am. Finally, after a lot of browsing, I finalized by grids and got them approved by ma’am.

INTEGRATIVE SEMINAR & STUDIO (Class – 12)

29.10.18

SEMINAR

In today’s class, we were told to create a questionnaire with our respected groups for the people who are fimilar with the place that we are assigned. This exercise was for us to identify that one thing about our assigned place that we’d want to know more about.

Here are the actions that we as a group jotted down about Pali Market.

STUDIO

We as a group started brainstorming ideas for our final model and our abstract representation of Pali market. We did discussions with Riya ma’am and took her point of view and suggestions on the same.

INTEGRATIVE SEMINAR & STUDIO (Class – 10)

I couldn’t attend today’s class because I was feeling a little under the weather. After asking my pals regarding today’s class, this is my understanding of what happened today.

SEMINAR

For our Seminar class, we did a little revision of what happened in the last class as Prarthana ma’am wasn’t present in the last class. We then discussed different books on cities in order to understand different literary styles and a reference for our home assignment which is to write a 350 words essay on our city.

STUDIO

Our group was supposed to go to Pali market again but this time to look at it with a much deeper sense and try to understand it through all our five senses.

We will be going in the next class.

IMAGING (Class – 11)

16.10.18

As we had not started with our storyboard in our drawing class, we couldn’t start with our digitization of the same. So, Jai sir asked to start with our drawing storyboard in sir’s class and then start digitizing.

SPACE & MATERIALITY (Class – 11)

My partner and I started working on our wearables. We started brainstorming ideas for the same. We further discussed our ideas with ma’am and went ahead with them. We shortlisted two actions i.e., arm wrestling and handshake. For our prototypes;

  1. Handshake –  we thought of making a glove without any divisions for fingers so that it isn’t possible to complete the act of holding hands.
  2. Arm Wrestling – We thought of taking an empty Cadbury celebrations box and cut out two holes on both the ends and fit in a semi-circular (probably a Cadbury gems ball) object in these holes in a way that both players have their elbows in those cutouts to support their movement. we also plan on making bracelets sorta thing for both the players which is going to have a magnet attached to it so that the hands of both the opponents stay intact.
